Travel [Style II]

“We travel like the wind across the rotten-fruited plain.” Ryan Middleton tackles a typical Scottish Summer with some style.

It’s not an easy task making plans to film with someone who lives 70 miles away from you, it’s a task made even more difficult when taking into consideration how inconsistent the Scottish weather can be. The MET Office app is accurate for the most part, but there was an “extremely sunny” filming session which ended up resembling monsoon season rather than a sunbathing session.

The rain may have caused a slight nuisance for filming but it didn’t dampen Ryan’s spirits when it came to styling it up for the camera. His creative side really shone through during the making of this video and the fact that it was pissing down with rain for a lot of the clips didn’t seem to affect Ryans mood, or his riding. The weather didn’t completely screw us over however, we had a couple of sessions on dry, dusty trails to even things out and we even organised a last minute evening session after work to fully make the most of the sun whilst it was shining.

After traveling approximately 500 miles, riding 3 locations and experiencing every climate Scotland has to offer, we present you with our latest Shredder video: ‘Travel [Style 2]’.

This project is a follow up to Ryan’s Shredder video titled ’Style’ which we released at the end of last year. We filmed the ’Style' video during November and somehow got more dry days than our summer filming experience for ‘Travel’… Just another piece of evidence showing how unpredictable Scotland’s weather can be.

If you you still feel hesitant to hit up the trails in our typical british weather, I’ll leave this quote from Scotsman Billy Connelly as some inspiration to get out there and get it done -

"I hate all those weathermen, too, who tell you that rain is bad weather. There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing, so get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little."
